Human-Wildlife Conflict Management
In 2023, Guru Technology implemented an innovative solution to address human-wildlife conflict management in Kanchanpur, Nepal, by developing an AI-powered system for detecting vulnerable wild and stray domestic animals. This system integrates advanced deep learning frameworks with CCTV surveillance to monitor and identify animals in distress, including those that are injured, malnourished, or in unsafe environments. By leveraging cutting-edge technology, the system ensures timely detection and intervention, promoting animal welfare and enhancing awareness within the community.
As part of this project, we developed a robust architecture using React.js, Node.js, MongoDB, and React Native to create an ecosystem for seamless monitoring, alerting, and reporting. The system provides real-time alerts to authorities, enabling swift action to address the animals’ needs. Citizens can also report sightings of vulnerable animals through a mobile app, contributing to a collaborative effort for rescue and rehabilitation. This proactive approach supports local authorities in implementing efficient measures to safeguard animal welfare, contributing to a more humane and sustainable community ecosystem.
By bridging technology and compassion, this solution not only reduces risks associated with human-wildlife conflicts but also creates a framework for broader adoption in other regions. The project underscores the potential of AI-driven systems in fostering coexistence between humans and wildlife while ensuring the well-being of stray and vulnerable animals.
