Yagya Raj Pandeya, Ph.D. was born in Banlek village, Dadeldhura, Nepal in 1988. He receives the B.E. and M.E. degree in Computer Engineering from the Pokhara University of Nepal, in 2010 and 2013, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jeonbuk National University (https://www.jbnu.ac.kr/), Jeonju, South Korea in February 2021. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Kathmandu University (https://ku.edu.np/), Dhulikhel, Nepal, starting from March 2022. Furthermore, he is the founder and CEO of Guru Technology Pvt. Ltd. (https://gurutech.com.np/) and runs AI-based projects and educational courses through Deep AI Nepal (https://deepainepal.com/). Previously, he served as the Head of the Department of Computer Engineering at NAST College in Dhangadhi, Nepal, and also worked at the Ministry of Home Affairs Nepal from 2015 to 2017. Dr. Yagya also had a one-year post-doctoral research experience at Fuzzy Logic and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory at Jeonbuk National University, Korea. Dr. Yagya received the Dean’s List ranker award from Pokhara University in 2014 and the Excellent Research Award from Jeonbuk National University in 2021. He has published more than 17 peer-reviewed articles and three books. Additionally, he has received various research grants and is currently working on deep learning applications for crop disease identification, multimedia affective computing, animal behavior analysis, and image pattern recognition.
